Summer Education Series III

“In the Footsteps of M.W.B. Robert Denfeld” Presented by Bro. Kevin Hendrickson
Finding a Masonic Legacy in Unexpected Places
Member, Minneapolis Lodge No. 19

Brother Kevin Hendrickson didn’t inherit a Masonic lineage—but he discovered one all the same. A native of Duluth and graduate of Denfeld High School, Kevin was surprised to learn that his alma mater was named after Most Worshipful Brother Robert E. Denfeld, Grand Master of Masons in Minnesota in 1914. That discovery, years later, led him to join Minneapolis Lodge No. 19, and to deepen his study of Masonic history.

In this presentation, Brother Kevin shares a personal and historical journey—exploring how MWB Denfeld’s legacy shaped a public institution and, unexpectedly, a young man’s path to Freemasonry. It is a story of connection across time and the power of finding inspiration in the symbols, stories, and names that surround us. A reminder to every Brother: You, too, are building a legacy—even if you haven’t yet seen its foundations.

“Are We Who We Say We Are?” Presented by W.Bro. Reed Endersbe
On Integrity, Empathy, and the Quiet Work of Brotherhood
Member, Minneapolis Lodge No. 19 – Regional Director (Central), Freemasons of Minnesota
Host, Minnesota Masonic Histories & Mysteries Podcast

In a time when surface-level virtue is often rewarded more than authentic character, Worshipful Brother Reed Endersbe calls us back to the essentials. A thoughtful and principled voice within the Craft, Reed is a Past Master of Minneapolis Lodge No. 19, serves as the Regional Director (Central) for the Freemasons of Minnesota, and is the host of the Minnesota Masonic Histories & Mysteries podcast.

This presentation asks the hard questions: Who can count on you? Are you a Brother in title only—or in deed, in empathy, in presence? With clarity and candor, W. Bro. Endersbe challenges us to hold ourselves accountable to the values we claim, offering a timely reminder that Freemasonry is not a performance—it’s a practice.
