A Masonic Appeal for Annunciation Community

On Wednesday, August 27 our neighborhood was shaken by the tragic and events at Annunciation Church & School. The taking of innocent lives in a place of learning and worship is unconscionable, and the grief is felt deeply across our city.

In the days since, we at Lake Harriet Lodge have been moved by an outpouring of support from Freemasons across Minneapolis and from lodges throughout Minnesota. Brothers from across the state have reached out, asking how they can stand with the Annunciation community. As the lodge closest to Annunciation, we have been called to rise to the occasion and carry the banner of this effort.

Together, the Masonic community is resolved not only to stand in solidarity, but also to act in compassion. To provide tangible relief, we are supporting the Annunciation Hope and Healing Fund, established to care for the families and community most directly impacted by this tragedy.

Lake Harriet Lodge will collect donations until Sunday, October 26, when we will culminate this special appeal at our Fall Pancake Breakfast. Afterward, the combined contributions will be directed to Annunciation through the Hope and Healing Fund.

This is a moment for us to live out the highest duties of our fraternity - Brotherly Love and Relief. We invite you to join us in lifting up the Annunciation community, helping them move toward “a future filled with hope.”
