Scottish Rite - Minneapolis Valley
Location: Minneapolis Scottish Rite
Description:

Scottish Rite brethren are welcome to participate with those who are taking their Scottish Rite degrees for the first time at the Minneapolis Valley, at Franklin and Dupont Ave. So. The degrees begin at 6PM, with dinner at 5PM. Bring your dues card to show at the door. The Minneapolis Valley is a treasure, being only one of a few SR valleys in the nation to present all 29 degrees of the Scottish Rite (4th thru 32nd) in full theatrical form, and they do it twice per year.

We'll portray the 12th and 13th degrees tonight:

12th Degree: Master Architect - Duties: Seek wisdom through knowledge. Lessons: Wisdom is a gift from God and should be preferred over riches. Wisdom and knowledge bring honor, discretion, and understanding. Wisdom teaches the knowledge of God. Wisdom enables immortality.

13th Degree: Royal Arch of Solomon - Duties: Seek knowledge. Be motivated by duty and honor. Lessons: Moral character is a habit, not formed in a moment. The great law of retribution acts in our memory as remorse and at the final judgment.

Read about the Scottish Rite here. It's often called "the college of Masonry" for its deeper dive into the Masonic principles first introduced in the first three degrees of Freemasonry. Scottish Rite degrees allow time for group discussion on how our ideals have impacted many good and great men in history, weaving our impact into the Enlightenment and Western Civilization itself. Come join the conversation!
